Humble Beginnings
Rick Drummond founded Drummond Uniform Service in 1992 literally from the basement of now co-owner Cathy Kalman's house in Akron, Ohio. With very little money and only a strong desire to create a customer driven company, Rick started growing Drummond one customer at a time.
Expansion
In the early days, the company only rented and delivered work uniforms. But a few years after its founding Rick moved the company into a 5000 sq ft building in Canton, Ohio. During this time the company expanded its offering to include floor mats and medical linen rental.
Perseverance
As with any startup company, Drummond experienced many challenges along the way, but in 2007 the company faced a new challenge after a total loss fire. Even though the fire was devastating, the employees of Drummond stepped up and rebuilt the company in 90 days without a single interruption of service to the customers. From the leadership and hard work of our plant manager Sue Cody to the efforts of all employees, understanding friends and family, cooperation of the city of Canton and finally lots of prayer we rebuilt into a stronger company.
New Life for the future
With our new location near downtown Canton we feel better positioned to continue our dreams and goals of expansion. Since moving into our new state of the art facility in 2007 we've increased our capacity, improved our quality and expanded our product line to include Health and Safety products.
Here at Drummond we are excited about our future and look forward to developing strong partnerships with more customers.
